The presence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria on these surfaces could contribute to community transmission of resistant pathogens. Understanding contamination patterns on public-use devices can inform hygiene awareness campaigns and public health interventions. Determinants of Childhood Immunization Defaulting Among Caregivers Attending Primary Healthcare Facilities in Rural North-West Nigeria

Childhood immunization remains one of the most effective public health interventions for preventing vaccine-preventable diseases. Despite improvements in immunization coverage across Nigeria, several northern states continue to report suboptimal vaccination uptake and high rates of immunization defaulting. Factors such as vaccine hesitancy, poor healthcare access, low maternal education, cultural beliefs, insecurity, and health system constraints contribute to missed vaccination opportunities. Immunization defaulting increases the risk of disease outbreaks, childhood morbidity, and mortality. Understanding the specific factors influencing caregivers' adherence to vaccination schedules is essential for designing targeted interventions that improve vaccine completion rates. Evidence from rural communities remains limited despite their disproportionate burden of under-immunization. This study seeks to identify determinants of childhood immunization defaulting among caregivers attending primary healthcare facilities in rural North-West Nigeria and generate evidence to support context-specific immunization strategies.

Knowledge, Risk Perception and Acceptance of Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Among Female Undergraduate Students in Nigerian Universities

Cervical cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality among women in Nigeria. Human papillomavirus vaccination offers a highly effective strategy for reducing the burden of cervical cancer. However, vaccine uptake remains low due to inadequate awareness, misconceptions, cultural concerns, cost barriers, and limited access. Female university students represent an important target population for preventive interventions because they are at an age where vaccination can still provide substantial benefits. Understanding knowledge levels, risk perception, and vaccine acceptance among young women is critical for developing effective awareness campaigns and vaccination programs. This study seeks to evaluate factors influencing acceptance of human papillomavirus vaccination among female undergraduate students in Nigerian universities.
