Burnout among nurses has become a growing concern globally due to its impact on healthcare quality, workforce retention, and patient safety. Intensive care units present particularly demanding work environments characterized by high patient acuity, emotional stress, long working hours, and staffing shortages. In Nigeria, persistent healthcare workforce challenges may increase the risk of burnout among critical care nurses. Burnout can contribute to reduced job satisfaction, increased absenteeism, medical errors, and turnover intentions. Despite its implications for healthcare delivery, evidence on burnout among intensive care nurses remains limited in many Nigerian hospitals. Understanding the factors associated with burnout is essential for developing interventions that improve nurse wellbeing and healthcare outcomes.

Suggested Methodology
A cross-sectional analytical study will be conducted among registered nurses working in intensive care units. Participants will be selected through stratified sampling. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multivariable regression models will be used to identify predictors of burnout.
