Background

Catheter-associated urinary tract infections are among the most common healthcare-associated infections and contribute to increased morbidity, hospitalization duration, and healthcare costs. Nurses play a vital role in catheter insertion, maintenance, and removal practices. Adherence to evidence-based infection prevention measures is essential for reducing infection rates. However, variations in knowledge and practice may compromise patient safety. This study seeks to evaluate nurses’ knowledge and practices regarding prevention of catheter-associated urinary tract infections.

Suggested Methodology

A descriptive analytical cross-sectional study will be conducted among nurses in medical and surgical units. Data will be collected using questionnaires and observational assessments. Logistic regression analyses will identify predictors of appropriate practice.
