Background

Healthcare-associated infections remain a significant challenge in healthcare settings, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Nurses play a critical role in implementing infection prevention and control measures that protect patients and healthcare workers. However, compliance with recommended guidelines may be influenced by knowledge gaps, inadequate resources, workload pressures, and organizational culture. Understanding factors affecting adherence to infection prevention protocols is essential for strengthening patient safety and reducing infection-related complications. This study seeks to assess knowledge and compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines among nurses in secondary healthcare facilities in Nigeria.

Suggested Methodology

A descriptive cross-sectional study will be conducted among nurses in secondary healthcare facilities. Data will be collected using questionnaires and observational checklists. Logistic regression analyses will identify predictors of compliance.
