Background
Effective postoperative monitoring is essential for early detection of complications and prevention of adverse outcomes. Nurses are responsible for monitoring vital signs, assessing patient recovery, and identifying signs of clinical deterioration. Adherence to monitoring protocols is influenced by staffing levels, workload, training, and organizational support. Despite the importance of postoperative surveillance, evidence regarding compliance among Nigerian nurses remains limited. This study seeks to evaluate factors affecting adherence to postoperative patient monitoring protocols.
