Assessment of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Practices and Their Association With Diarrheal Diseases Among Under-Five Children in Rural Nigeria
Background
Diarrheal diseases remain a major contributor to morbidity and mortality among under-five children in Nigeria. Poor water quality, inadequate sanitation infrastructure, and suboptimal hygiene practices increase the risk of diarrheal infections in vulnerable populations. Rural communities often face greater challenges related to access to safe drinking water and sanitation services. Understanding the relationship between household water, sanitation, and hygiene practices and childhood diarrheal diseases is essential for informing preventive interventions. This study seeks to evaluate water, sanitation, and hygiene practices and their association with diarrheal diseases among under-five children in rural Nigeria.

Suggested Methodology
A community-based cross-sectional study will be conducted among households with under-five children. Structured questionnaires and observational checklists will be used for data collection. Logistic regression analyses will identify determinants of diarrheal diseases.
