Background
Nursing is physically demanding and often involves repetitive movements, prolonged standing, patient lifting, and awkward postures. These occupational demands place nurses at increased risk of musculoskeletal disorders, which can reduce productivity, increase absenteeism, and negatively affect quality of care. Despite the importance of occupational health, ergonomic practices are not consistently implemented in many healthcare facilities. Understanding the prevalence and determinants of musculoskeletal disorders among nurses is necessary for developing workplace interventions that improve staff wellbeing and patient care.
