Assessment of E-Waste Disposal Practices and Associated Health Risks Among Informal Electronic Waste Recyclers in Urban Nigeria
Background
The rapid growth of electronic device consumption has resulted in increasing volumes of electronic waste across Nigeria. Informal recycling activities often involve unsafe dismantling and disposal practices that expose workers and surrounding communities to hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium. These exposures may contribute to respiratory disorders, neurological effects, and other adverse health outcomes. Despite the growing environmental and health burden associated with electronic waste, evidence regarding disposal practices and occupational risks among informal recyclers remains limited. Understanding current practices and associated health risks is important for informing environmental health interventions and policy development.

Suggested Methodology
